Holiday Wish List

Since I have been planning my holiday to America, I have been wanting so much stuff to take with me! I get into this holiday obsession every year & I just can't help myself!

Holiday Wish List

*

1. Triangl Bikini 'Winnie - Arizona Sunset'
I have been in love with this bikini for way too long & have finally bought it!!! (Well my fiancé bought it for me as he was probably fed up with me going on about it.) The Triangl Swimwear just looks so comfortable & really flattering. I love all of the colours but especially this orange.

2. ASOS Kimono
I bought one of these from Topshop when I was 18 & they've finally come back around! I love this dip dye effect one as it's a lot more casual than the one I currently own. It would be a perfect cover up for the evenings on holiday.

3. Havaianas Flip Flops
Surprise surpise, they're in my favourite colour! I always think you can get away with wearing really bright & in your face colours on your feet. I love their flip flops as they're so comfy but also last really well.

4. Vichy Face Suncream
I'm always really cautious of my face being in the sun. It doesn't really help being pale & ginger but I like to keep it out of the sun anyways. This is why I definitely want this factor 50 Vichy suncream for my face as it would be perfect for protecting it when I can't keep it out of the sun & I'll know that it'll keep my skin feeling nice as I can quite often get horrible bumpy skin after using suncream on my face.

5. Zara Flower Necklace
I'm definitely a lover of a statement necklace. This one from Zara is a beautiful colour & also a really cool design. I love how you can really dress it up or down depending on the occasion.

6. Levis High Waisted Denim Shorts
I have wanted some Levis shorts for years! As long as I can remember really but I can never find the right style or colour. These still aren't the exact ones I want as I have an image in my mind. (Maybe I'm creating my own style & they don't actually exist but I'm determined to find them.) They're just such a staple in a summer wardrobe & fit so well!

An Engagement Party

A couple of weeks ago I went to my auntie's engagement party in Leeds :) it was a really nice evening & a good chance for some of the family to get together!

I was busy during the day & didn't have time to re-do my makeup so I had to do a re-vamp of my daytime makeup to make it appropriate for a party!

Here's my day to night makeup look :)

In the day, I tend to keep it quite natural with a small amount of liner & mascara

Excuse the eyebrows - it'd been a long day & they aren't looking the best!

(Left eye)

I started off by applying 'half baked' from the Urban Decay Naked Palette.

(Left Eye)

I then added some definition to my crease & started to create the flick outline using a gorgeous glittery plum colour from a MAC palette I got as an Easter present.

(Bottom Colour)

I continued to build it up until I was happy with it!

Crazy flicks before I blended them out :)

I then added my MAC liquid eyeliner which is in my current favourites at the minute! I sorted my eyebrows out, added some more mascara & bronzer et voila...

The finished look :)

We then drove up to Leeds & quickly got changed into our outfits before setting off for the party.
(Apologies for the lighting in the hotel!)

Dress - Miss Selfridge
Necklace - Accessorize

On our way home on the Sunday we stopped off for a Sunday lunch in a restaurant called 'The Cadeby Inn' It was really lovely & such a beautiful place!

We were sat in "The Conservatory" which was a beautiful open room with only 4 tables but lots of windows!

I loved this lamp shade & the wine displayed

Of course I had my favourite drink, cranberry & disaronno

For starter I had a prawn & smoked salmon cocktail which was delicious. It was so light & fresh & came with a piece of warm tasty bread :)

I found this beautiful picture in the ladies toilets & just felt the need to take a photo of it :)

For my main course, I went with the pork loin & apple mash which was sooo tasty!

If you have the chance to go for a Sunday lunch I would definitely recommend as it's pretty good value for money & is also really tasty :) The garden at the front also looked perfect for relaxing on a sunny day.

The Groom

I suggested to Charlie when she started her blog I should do some guest blog posts from the male perspective of a wedding. But she didn't like that idea… yet here I am because she changed her mind (because I'm always right!).

I didn't know what to expect when we became engaged.
People always tell you stories about 'Bridezilla', the Mother-in-Law from hell & how it becomes a nightmare just organising a wedding. Yet I feel pretty lucky. My job has taken me to Washington DC for the summer so I have left everything in my fiancé's capable hands and so far everything is going to plan with BOTH mothers being pretty helpful.

Being a Groom-to-be, I have not really had much to do (so far!), Charlie is extremely good at planning so she has been on top of everything. We also have the same vision for our wedding & have not had a single conversation longer than 5 minutes to agree on something, whether it be the colour scheme or the venue. Like I said, pretty lucky as not everyone has it so easy. I am sure when I move home I will be involved heavily in everything but for now, being a Groom is great!

The easiest thing to do as a groom is agree, because let's be honest… it isn't about us.

May Favourites

I can't believe that we're already in June! How fast is this year going? Ridiculous.

Anyways, seeing as I really enjoyed doing an April favourites, I thought that I would make this a monthly post for you :)

1. Abercrombie & Fitch White Shorts

I bought these shorts last year in Amsterdam but I've recently found a new love for them! They're perfect for lounging around in now that the weather is getting a bit better & it's becoming slightly warmer. They go with anything so I can match any top with them & I can also wear them to the gym if I really want!

2. Vegetable Bake

Whenever I have a day off work in the week & I want a healthier lunch option I make a vegetable bake! I love it so much. I literally raid the fridge & select as many vegetables as I can find, chop them all up, add some tuna or chicken, chopped tomatoes & put a small bit of cheddar cheese on top :) delish!

3. MAC Liquid Eyeliner

I have a love/hate relationship with this eyeliner. I'm the kind of person who'd love to be able to create the perfect flick but it's never going to happen :( I love creating a cat eye but most of the time I get really annoyed at myself when trying to do one. This eyeliner has been really good lately & I forgot how easy it was to use :)

4. Victoria Secret Spray

My friends Viki & Mel bought me a spray for my last birthday which I absolutely love! I thought i'd lost it until I recently found it again it the back of a drawer & have been using it every day since. It really reminds me of summer & smells so fruity!

5. Kindle

I feel like this post is one of those where I haven't necessarily bought new things but I've rediscovered old products! My kindle is another one of those. I always have it by my bed but I'm always too distracted on YouTube or my blog to read but since the weather has been a bit nicer, I've been sitting in the garden & catching up on some reading :)

6. Mulberry Handbag

This was a present from my fiancé for my 21st birthday & I absolutely adore it! So much so, that I never used to wear it because I was scared of getting it dirty or ruined. I am now obsessed & it is my most worn bag :) I love the long strap which makes me feel like I can dress it down for the day or use the smaller strap for an evening handbag. (Thanks fiancé :) x)

7. Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm

Finally, a new product!! I have been absolutely LOVING this during May :) my skin went a bit mental in April for some reason which I think was due to the anaesthetic I had during an operation so I was in desperate need of some skin repair. This has definitely done the trick! It feels so luxurious on my skin &  leaves it feeling beautifully re-hydrated.

8. MAC Bronzer

I love this bronzer. I must have had it for about 5 years, no joke! Probably shouldn't admit that but ah well. I went off it because it's quite shimmery & I went through at matt contour stage but I've recently rediscovered this & am loving using it to create a summery look.

9. Topshop Necklace

This necklace is so versatile its amazing! I've worn it to work, on a night out, to a fancy restaurant & just on a standard day. It goes with so many of my clothes but can also dress up an outfit really nicely.

10. Primark Flannels

These have become a necessity in my skincare routine. I have about 12 flannels as I use one a day so that means a lot of flannel washing but it's definitely worth it. They're so cheap but are also soft as well :) I used to use the Liz Earle muslin cloths but I felt like after a few washes they lost the umph they first had so I decided to switch to flannels.
