Christmas Wish List

Christmas has to be my favourite time of the year like many. I absolutely love the build up, buying gifts for loved ones, getting in the festive spirit & not feeling guilty eating all those Christmas treats.

There's also something about Christmas that makes me want to buy lots of winter themed outfits perfect for celebrating as well as some home ware items I wouldn't usually splash out on. Let's hope I'm lucky enough to get some of these gifts from my Christmas wish list.

Hand & Flowers | Food

Eating out is a great hobby of my husband & I. We love exploring new places, new foods & spending our time eating out but this can sometimes come with a hefty price tag.
We have been waiting to be able to visit Tom Kerridge's 'The Hand & Flowers' for a while now & so I was pleasantly surprised to find that a part of my birthday present this year was for us to take that trip.
We were booked in on a Sunday which only meant one thing. A Sunday roast. Actually, the BEST Sunday roast.
Having scoured the menu as soon as I'd been seated, I decided to have the salt baked swede & haggis tart with crispy lamb & "chantilly de chèvre"

The Wedding Cake | Bridal

When it comes to choosing your wedding cake, you need to make sure that you're more than happy with it. If there's one thing I've realised post wedding is that people always remember the food & the cake whether it's good or bad.

I mean, why wouldn't you want a beautiful looking & delicious tasting cake?! The best bit about the whole event is tasting the cake. Taste taste taste. The more you taste the better. 

Honeymoon | Rome

Planning a wedding, buying a house & working full time when your fiancé is living abroad is pretty stressful, let me tell you. When I realised I then needed to also organise & plan the honeymoon I almost when into meltdown.
Luckily, my lovely now husband stepped up & said he'd take on the challenge of organising the honeymoon & would keep it as a surprise.
The day we left for our honeymoon, he had organised a bunch of clues for me to work out on the drive down to the airport. I mean, it did take me a while to work out that flour & eggs make pasta even though it's my favourite food but I eventually got there & worked out that we were heading to Rome!

October favourites time! I feel like by the time I've done the last favourites post it's time to do the next.
Champneys Cloud 9 Body Butter

Oh I do love the scent of this body butter. It feels great on your skin & has a real mousse like look & texture. It's definitely perfect for a pamper night during the winter months.

The Big Day | Bridal

Our wedding day was the best day of my life & won't ever be forgotten. It was so great to be able to share something so special with all of those closest to us & also have everyone together. It's so hard to get family & friends together especially if you have a big family but a wedding means no excuses & I was so happy that everyone could come.

Scent Season

Recently, my taste in perfume has really changed. Gone are the sickly sweet fruity products & in are the more musky & natural scents.

The Big Day | The Details

The day has come & we finally have our beautiful wedding pictures! The only problem is trying to choose between them all as there are so many & it's great to be able to see all of the little details that helped to pull the day together.

Santorini Stylin' | OOTD

Packing for a honeymoon when you don't know where you're going is pretty tricky. I really struggled to get a good balance of different outfits for different potential scenario's but I definitely struck the nail on the head with this one.

Champneys | A New Start

If you've recently popped into your local Boots store, you will have noticed that the spa brand Champneys has had a re-vamp & completely changed their look.
Gone are the dated looking packs that don't have a sense of continuity & in come the bright, colourful & fashionable products!
If I'm honest, I've never taken any notice of Champneys to the extent that I wasn't really aware of the brand itself. This re-vamp has definitely changed my perception of the products which I guess is what they were after.

Roaming in Rome | OOTD

Rome, Rome, Rome. The eternal city. The first adventure of our honeymoon.
You can spend hours & hours wandering around Rome which is exactly what we did. We explored round all the narrow streets constantly dodging mopeds whizzing through, adored lots of Basilica's & went to the usual tourist spots.
Whilst I spent my days exploring & eating ice cream, I had to compete with the incredible Italian fashion & stunning autumnal weather.

September Favourites

Seeing as I've recently moved into our very first home together, this months favourites have managed to become fairly homeware based. I mean, it was bound to happen at some point with all the wish lists & that!
1. The White Company Diffuser

As we've been doing our house up, it really smelt of plaster, paint, gloss etc etc. Whilst we were away for Stephen's birthday in Bath, we nipped into The White Company & just happened to leave with this divine fresh fig diffuser which I can't get enough of. I'm already dreading the day the scent dies out.

Short Sleeves & Sparkles | OOTD

Don't you love it when you find an outfit from something you completely forgot about? I mean, I knew I had this top but I'd never actually worn it & didn't know what to pair it with.

York Travels | OOTD

After weeks of grey skies & drizzly days, the sunshine finally came out & shone on us in York. It was such a lovely family weekend away & the perfect opportunity to bring out some summer comfort.

The Wedding Dress | The Making Of

This post has been a long time coming & I am so excited to share it with you! By now you may or may not have already seen the finished dress on various social media sites but I really wanted to share the transformation & journey with you.
Apologies for the rubbish quality of pictures, these are however the best of a bad bunch!
So last August, I spent many a time in bridal shops trying on various dresses. I knew I was going to have it made but needed to find a style I liked & suited. I must have tried about 50 dresses on in total as at first I was trying to find parts that I loved rather than a dress itself. A little while later I found a dress I loved & headed over to the dress shop.

Hen Party | OOTD

What do you wear to a hen party where you don't know what your doing? Good question & I had no idea too. It's a good job my sister steered me in the direction of wearing something "nice" for the evening & this was what I came up with.

Flower Power | Guest Post

It's hard to believe we first met Charlie & Stephen in March 2014 at a local wedding fair. During these last 18 months with a few chats, a couple of meet ups & plenty of emails, especially whilst Stephen was living & working in the USA, we came together with a floral plan for Sunday 27^th September 2015.

So this week here at Flowers on Main Street we've ordered & inspected the flowers from our dedicated suppliers. To ensure blooms are at their optimum beauty for Sunday we will soon be busy with conditioning each stem & bud. Designs will carefully be put together, each placement of bud & bloom adjusted until it's in just the right position & a few hours before the ceremony on Sunday the final finishing touches will be added.

Soap & Glory Mother Pucker Lipgloss | Review

I've never tried the 'Mother Pucker' lip gloss before but as soon as I saw this gorgeous shade, I just had to buy it! They have also brought out another 6 shades which I can't wait to give a try.
